Creative Futures Academy has been working across our 3 partner institutions to create a suite of new trans-disciplinary elective modules, available to CFA undergraduate students at NCAD, IADT and UCD. 

Since January 2024, CFA has been successfully trialing accredited student mobility, for the first time allowing selected learners to expand their curriculum and to take 5-credit modules at a partner institution. 

These strategically designed, elective modules offer a diverse mix of real world learning and address future-focused skill needs within Creative and Cultural industries.

During the spring trimester of 2024, NCAD students enrolled in “Studio +” year as part of their NCAD undergraduate degree in Art and Design participated in a range of IADT modules including: 

• Generative Design with John Montayne
• Introduction to Applied Psychology with Hannah Barton and AP Team
• Web Design with Grainne Carroll
• Drawing with 2nd year Art team
• Flight with Paul Gregg
• Introduction to Comics with Michael Connerty
• Introduction to Performance Art with Ciaran O’Keeffe
• Sound Shaping with Kieran Lynch
• World Building in the Metaverse with Rob Griffin and John Buckley
• Digital Imaging with Aoife Herrity

A similar number of IADT undergraduate students participated in three NCAD electives in the same term (2024).

• Creative Diversity: Greg Osborne

Following the success of this exchange, NCAD and UCD welcomed each other’s students again in the Autumn trimester. Learners participated in electives on the UCD Campus such as:

• Cinema Creatives with Grainne Humprehys 
• Techniques of Songwriting with Peter Moran
• Creativity in English Drama and Film with PJ Mathews

This year, 2025, CFA is providing IADT Electives for students from NCAD:

• Archive of the Senses with Fiona Snow & Elaine Sisson 
• Telling Your Story through Archive Film with Irina Maldea & Brendan Culleton 
• World Building in the Metaverse with Rob Griffin 

Similarly, IADT undergraduate students participated in four NCAD electives in the same term (2025).
