Creative Futures Academy (CFA) and Beta Festival are partnering to present taster sessions of some of our skills-based courses through a series of workshops which will provide participants with hands on experience including:

• Getting Started with Building in the Metaverse (IADT)
• Introduction to UX and UI Design (IADT)
• Mapping Data (IADT)
• Basic Electronics to Enhance Your Art and Design Practice (IADT)
• Intro to Creature and Character Digital Sculpting (IADT)
• Build a cellular Automaton (IADT)
• Art and Design Research (NCAD)
• Sustainable Exhibitions (NCAD)
• Digital Making (NCAD)

These workshops will take place in the evening from 6-8pm and provide participants with hands on skills development. These sessions will have limited capacity and be free to attend. Tickets will be available from 10th October 2024 on the BETA website: https://2024.betafestival.ie/

Beta is a new festival of art and technology critically engaging with the impact of emerging technologies on society. Taking Ireland’s role as a central node in today’s wired world as a starting point, Beta showcases and celebrates Ireland’s research and artistic communities through a combination of creativity, debate and experimentation. Beta allows members of the public to engage playfully and critically with new technologies essentially beta testing ethical issues facing society
