The feature documentary In Time: Dónal Lunny was screened at the University of Notre Dame’s Browning Cinema on 24 April 2026 as part of the university’s inaugural Irish Film Fleadh. The event included a pre-screening reception and live performance by the Celtic Revue, followed by a post-screening discussion featuring CFA at UCD Director P.J. Mathews, Professor Ted Barron, Executive Director, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center and Judd and Mary Lou Leighton Director of Performing Arts.

Directed by Nuala O’Connor, In Time charts the life and creative legacy of Dónal Lunny, whose groundbreaking work with groups including Planxty, The Bothy Band and Moving Hearts helped transform Irish traditional music for global audiences. The documentary combines archival footage, rare performances and personal reflections, including a reunion with Christy Moore.

Creative Futures Academy supported the production of the film, which also highlights Lunny’s role as Musician-in-Residence at University College Dublin since 2021, mentoring students involved in UCD’s Traditional Music Practices ensemble.

The Notre Dame screening marked another international platform for the documentary following its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh and subsequent festival screenings in Ireland and the United States.
