CFA was delighted to host members of World Crafts Council Europe (WCCE) for a special knowledge exchange from 8th – 10th February in Dublin.

As part of the knowledge exchange programme, CFA was joined by eight WCCE guest organisations from across Europe, to open up fresh perspectives and to share ideas, expertise, experience and opportunities.
The residency allowed for an immersive experience combining on-site visits, discussions, talks and networking to allow for a more in-depth understanding of each organisation and their missions for craft, design and education.

Staff and students were invited to join the presentations and discussions that took place on Thursday 9th February in NCAD themed around the topic ‘New ways of learning’.

World Crafts Council said: ‘World Crafts Council Europe and our delegates from various craft and design organisations across Europe, were delighted with the successful and inspiring time spent on the Knowledge Exchange Programme in Dublin, hosted by the Creative Futures Academy.

Through the programme, we intended to create an open and engaging environment in which people can share their insights and perspectives on how we can better develop and strengthen the sector through innovative and future-thinking knowledge transfer; skills development and accreditation. The model of CFA is breaking new ground on this and we look forward to communicating further about our learnings within our local networks and communities!’
