On Tuesday 9th June 2026, CFA@IADT celebrated the publication of the IADT Creative Futures Academy Case Studies (2021–2025), an important milestone as we close out Phase I of this project. The launch took place in Digital Media Building, IADT, Dún Laoghaire and was attended by many staff members who had contributed to the project.
The 12 Case Studies presented reflect four years of genuine collaboration across IADT, NCAD, and UCD.
Speaking at the launch, David Smith, President of IADT noted how he would like to thank the many staff and students who contributed directly to this work, and acknowledged the collective efforts made by the CFA team across the 3 institutions.
Ireland’s creative and cultural sector is undergoing rapid transformation. Skills gaps in digital practice, sustainability, entrepreneurship and cross-disciplinary collaboration are placing new demands on workers, institutions and learners alike.
This new case study report, documenting Phase I of CFA’s at IADT, is now available to download. The report brings together interconnected accounts of curriculum innovation, industry collaboration, professional development and creative pedagogy thereby reflecting IADT’s commitment to flexible, accessible and future-focused learning.
Central to IADT’s work is the development of micro-credentials: short, targeted programmes that offer inclusive routes into reskilling, upskilling and career development. The case studies span curriculum innovation, industry partnership, professional development and creative pedagogy. Together, they tell a larger story about what becomes possible when we share expertise across disciplines, invest in new tools and spaces, and put learner needs at the centre of institutional decision-making.
The work documented here is also a story of collegiality as we worked across disciplines to make the best use of the opportunities this funding has made possible, from investment in digital equipment to the piloting of new programmes with learners and tutors across IADT.
