BA and MA Students and postgrads from all three CFA institutions (UCD, IADT and NCAD) are invited to attend “Actable-Writable,” the first in our 2026 Slow Media Workshop Series, at UCD’s Trapdoor Theatre from 1-4pm on the 29th October, 1pm to 4pm.

This workshop is designed to help bridge the gap between actors, directors and writers. It is a co-creation workshop which goes beyond acting and writing into a unique experience involving a blending of both disciplines. Experimental in nature, it is a chance for actors, writers and directors find a unique way to develop an empathetic, unified bond of understanding of the direction that everybody taking part, comes from.

The workshop is open to all students in Screenwriting, English, Drama and similar disciplines to apply.

In this relaxed and fun environment, participants will warm up with exercises, then get into groups to develop characters, make notes, develop simple scenes with a few characters, write out script notes and act them out. There will be no distinction in the workshop between who is a writer, actor or director, and in that way discover co-created experiences of the participants in a supportive, creative and harmonious setting.
