This short course is designed to introduce third-level creative arts educators to laser cutters. Participants will learn how to create digital files and use laser cutters. The course responds to the need for creative arts educators to enhance their professional development and support novel work in their own practice and by their students.

You will be assessed through participation/attendance and on the successful completion of a piece of laser cut work.
The course is delivered on campus from 10am to 1pm on:
Tuesday 31st May, Thursday 2nd June, and Tuesday 14th June.
Note: Self-directed study will be necessary between sessions to generate artwork files.
Note: Entry is restricted to post-secondary educators working in a student-facing role in the creative arts (lecturer, technician, PLC teacher, tutor-demonstrator, etc.)
Foundational experience with 2D vector drawing software (e.g. Illustrator/CAD) is advised.
The course is offered free of charge; funded by IADT and the Creative Futures Academy, under the Higher Education Authority’s Human Capital Initiative.
