Holding a degree in Visual Communications from TU (DIT), Karl has worked extensively in the design and creative industries, both in Ireland and the UK. Working with brands such as Nike, Apple, Google and Adobe, he has delivered multidisciplinary projects spanning experience design, communication and product design.
More recently, Karl's focus has shifted towards strategic design: emphasising co-design and community engagement. He has collaborated with local councils and organisations like Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, the NHS, and Engaging Libraries UK on projects addressing social change.
This experience informs his teaching at IADT and NCAD (and previously UAL and MSX), where Karl enjoys collaborating with students on real-world projects and briefs, ensuring they gain valuable industry experience with clients benefitting from the fresh perspectives and creativity of Gen Z.
