Emma Balfe

Research Assistant, IADT




Emma is a Research Assistant to the Creative Futures Academy. Prior to their role with IADT, Emma graduated from NCAD in 2017 with a B.A. in Visual Culture, followed by an M.A. in Gender Studies from UCD in 2020. Their previous research has explored the interactions between creative practice, social class, affect, and gender.

As a member of the CFA team in IADT, Emma will contribute to the research agenda of the Creative Futures Academy. They will assist the academic development team in the design and development of programmes, supporting the delivery of online content through a variety of media. Emma's role will include the mapping of best practices for distanced learning, preparing reports, and collecting and collating data pertaining to the aims and objectives of the CFA.
